John was walking around in a store, shopping, when he saw a Cashier talking to a boy couldn’t have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, "I’m sorry, but you don’t have enough money to buy this doll." Then the little boy turned to John and asked, "Uncle, are you sure I don’t have enough money?"
John counted his cash and replied, "You know that you don’t have enough money to buy the doll, my dear." The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, John walked towards the little boy and asked him who he wished to give this doll to. "It’s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much . I wanted to Gift her for her Birthday. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there." His eyes were so sad while saying this.
"My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister." John's heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at him and said, "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall." Then he showed John a very nice photo of him, where he was laughing. He then told him "I want mommy to take my picture with her so my sister won’t forget me, I love my mommy and I wish she doesn’t have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister."
Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. John quickly reached for his wallet and said to the boy. "Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?" He said, "OK, I hope I do have enough." Meanwhile John had added some money to the little boys without him seeing and they started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
The little boy said, "Thank you God for giving me enough money!" Then he looked at John and added, "I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me! I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn’t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. My mommy loves white roses."
John finished his shopping in a totally different state from when he started. John couldn’t get the little boy out of my mind. Then he remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state.
The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, John read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away. He couldn’t stop himself. He bought a bunch of white roses and went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. John left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that his life had been changed for ever…
The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him…
Respect life, Follow and Obey Rules. Don’t make anyone else to pay and bear for your mistakes. Do not make the mistakes which cost others something that can never be replaced. Always have a giving hand and extend your help to those in need and sorrow.
Don't Be Rash Lest You Crash
The very mention of rules makes some people rebel but traffic safety rules can be ignored at one's own peril. What is worse, the violators might end up harming not just themselves but law-abiding persons as well. A conscientious driver might be observing every rule under the book but if the driver behind him didn't bother with traffic niceties, he might add to the accident victims' tally.
If you were among the millions who drive to work every day, you would probably grimace with recognition. With traffic congestion getting worse each year in the wake of constant growth in vehicle ownership, all kinds of people throng the roads and your daily slog could easily put your life at risk. Driving under such circumstances could be stressful -even making us physically ill.
More Commuting Hours
According to the Road Information Program, average commuting hours has been steadily increasing in practically every country.
Some results of such commuter combat are predictable. Reckless driving-sometimes in the form of so-called road rage-is often spurred by traffic frustrations. So cool-headed commuting is essential to safeguard precious lives on the road.
Alertness Is The Key
Obeying traffic safety regulations often makes the difference between life and death on the highway. Only if you are alert while driving can you live to see another day. The thumb rule is to exercise tolerance and respect other commuters' rights. Speed might thrill but it kills more often.
Driving is a test of concentration. Don't drive if you are drunk or are feeling sleepy. Don't get lost in the music or mobile in your vehicle. Keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of you as you could collide if the other driver is forced to apply sudden brakes. Also keep away from parked cars.
Obey signs and signals. Seat belts are meant to be used. Don't indulge a minor by letting him drive. Children should play in a safe place away from the street. Use standard helmets while driving two-wheelers and don't carry more than one adult pillion rider. Carrying persons on the bonnet of a motor vehicle is not done. No person should be allowed to stand or sit in a manner, which would hamper the driver.
While walking, look all ways before crossing the street. When there is no pavement, walk on the left facing traffic.
So, the next time you feel like romancing speed, pause to think. A lot hinges on your decision as each drop makes an ocean.
