Listen to sound of silence:

There once was a farmer who discovered that he had lost his watch in the barn. It was no ordinary watch because it had sentimental value for him.

After searching high and low among the hay for a long while; he gave up and enlisted the help of a group of children playing outside the barn.

He promised them that the person who found it would be rewarded.

Hearing this, the children hurried inside the barn, went through and around the entire stack of hay but still could not find the watch. Just when the farmer was about to give up looking for his watch, a little boy went up to him and asked to be given another chance. The farmer looked at him and thought, “Why not? After all, this kid looks sincere enough.”

So the farmer sent the little boy back in the barn. After a while the little boy came out with the watch in his hand! The farmer was both happy and surprised and so he asked the boy how he succeeded where the rest had failed.

The boy replied, “I did nothing but sit on the ground and listen. In the silence, I heard the ticking of the watch and just looked for it in that direction.”

Moral :

A peaceful mind can think better than a worked up mind.

Allow a few minutes of silence to your mind every day, and see how sharply it helps you to set your life the way you expect it to be!

The soul always knows what to do to heal itself..The challenge is to silence the mind….

Healthy relationship:

It has been my constant endeavour to post articles which are inspirational in nature. Today I have posted an Inspirational Story to improve difficult relationships. This is the need of the hour and it is important to have a Healthy Relationship be it in office, at home, with friends and all those associated with us !!!

A long time ago in China, a girl named Li-Li got married and went to live with her husband and mother-in-law.

In a very short time, Li-Li found that she couldn’t get along with her mother-in-law at all. Their personalities were very different, and Li-Li was angered by many of her mother-in-law’s habits. In addition, she criticized Li-Li constantly.

Days passed days, and weeks passed weeks. Li-Li and her mother-in-law never stopped arguing and fighting. But what made the situation even worse was that, according to ancient Chinese tradition, Li-Li had to bow to her mother-in-law and obey her every wish. All the anger and unhappiness in the house was causing the poor husband great distress.

Finally, Li-Li could not stand her mother-in-law’s bad temper and dictatorship any longer, and she decided to do something about it.

Li-Li went to see her father’s good friend, Mr. Huang, who sold herbs. She told him the situation and asked if he would give her some poison so that she could solve the problem once and for all. Mr. Huang thought for a while, and finally said, “Li-Li, I will help you solve your problem, but you must listen to me and obey what I tell you.”

Li-Li said, “Yes, Mr. Huang, I will do whatever you tell me to do.” Mr. Huang went into the back room, and returned in a few minutes with a package of herbs.

He told Li-Li, “You can’t use a quick-acting poison to get rid of your mother-in-law, because that would cause people to become suspicious. Therefore, I have given you a number of herbs that will slowly build up poison in her body. Every other day prepare some delicious meal and put a little of these herbs in her serving. Now, in order to make sure that nobody suspects you when she dies, you must be very careful to act very friendly towards her. Don’t argue with her, obey her every wish, and treat her like a queen.”

Li-Li was so happy. She thanked Mr. Huang and hurried home to start her plot of murdering her mother-in-law.

Weeks went by, months went by, and every other day, Li-Li served the specially treated food to her mother-in-law. She remembered what Mr. Huang had said about avoiding suspicion, so she controlled her temper, obeyed her mother-in-law, and treated her like her own mother. After six months had passed, the whole household had changed.

Li-Li had practiced controlling her temper so much that she found that she almost never got mad or upset. She hadn’t had an argument in six months with her mother-in-law, who now seemed much kinder and easier to get along with.

The mother-in-law’s attitude toward Li-Li changed, and she began to love Li-Li like her own daughter. She kept telling friends and relatives that Li-Li was the best daughter-in-law one could ever find. Li-Li and her mother-in-law were now treating each other like a real mother and daughter.

Li-Li’s husband was very happy to see what was happening.

One day, Li-Li came to see Mr. Huang and asked for his help again. She said, “Mr. Huang, please help me to stop the poison from killing my mother-in-law! She’s changed into such a nice woman, and I love her like my own mother. I do not want her to die because of the poison I gave her.”

Mr. Huang smiled and nodded his head. “Li-Li, there’s nothing to worry about. I never gave you any poison. The herbs I gave you were vitamins to improve her health. The only poison was in your mind and your attitude toward her, but that has been all washed away by the love which you gave to her.”

Moral : Make a conscious choice to see the good qualities of the person in relationships, act it out, if necessary and gradually and surely let time heal relationships…

Let’s start making amends.

To parents

To siblings

To friends

And many more.

No one has a promised tomorrow. Have a wonderful Life with no regrets!

So which are you :

Hi ! Today I have posted an article which has been doing the rounds from a very long time and I am sure many of you must have already read it. However, I am posting this once again so that you read it afresh and gauge how you envisage and respond to the struggles in your life !

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling.

It seemed that, as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans.

She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes, she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me, what do you see?”

“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” the young woman replied. The mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.

Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, “What does it mean, mother?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity – boiling water – but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened! The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

“Which are you?” the mother asked her daughter.

“When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”

Think of this:

Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong but, with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit but, after a death, a breakup, or a financial hardship, does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavour.

If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate to another level? How do you handle adversity?

So, which are you…a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?

Think before you judge:

Hi All… Today’s story “Think Before you Judge” is truly inspirational story and I am sure will change your perception of judgment!

Coming from an Army background, my siblings and I were instilled with plenty of values with phrases put in. What struck me most and has stayed with me in my whole life “Think before you speak or Judge !” This phrase has changed my whole perception in life and trust me its quite easy once you actually get down to practicing it ! Nothing is hard unless you try.

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy’s father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor.

On seeing him, the father yelled, “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have any sense of responsibility?”

The doctor smiled and said, “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital and I came as fast as I could after receiving the call and now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work”.

“Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies while waiting for doctor than what will you do??” said the father angrily. The doctor smiled again and replied, “We will do our best by God’s grace and you should also pray for your son’s healthy life”.

“Giving advises when we’re not concerned is so easy” Murmured the father.

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, “Thank goodness! Your son is saved!” And without waiting for the father’s reply he carried on his way running by saying, “If you have any questions, ask the nurse”.

“Why is he so arrogant? He couldn’t wait some minutes so that I ask about my son’s state” Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left. The nurse answered, tears coming down her face, “His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was at the burial when we called him for your son’s surgery. And now that he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s burial.”

Never judge anyone because you never know how their life is and what they’re going through.

Nobody has it easy ! Everybody has issues !

Everybody is fighting their own unique war !

Judging a person does not define who they are … It defines who you are !

Who or what do you love more: Choose Wisley~

Hi… Today’s article is a Heart Touching Story – A Lesson for Life … and applies to each and every us ! I am sure you must have read this story lots of times… We lose our patience and vent out our anger disregarding the repercussions / feelings of our near and dear ones / friends / neighbours / associates / colleagues etc ! It is time we controlled our Anger and chose wisely ! I hope to spark a thought, inspire and possibly change a life forever !!!! I Know I Can !

A man was putting up family pictures on the newly painted walls of his house. He was using nails and a hammer in order to hang the picture frames. In the process, some nails got bent and fell down on the floor.

The man’s 4 yr old daughter was playing nearby. She wanted to play with her dad and called out to him. However the man was busy with framing the pictures, and so ignored her calls and finally asked her to go outside and play with her brother. The girl saw the nails lying on the floor. So she picked up a few nails and went out to play along with her brother.

After a while the son came running in and told his dad ~ that the girl was scratching the newly purchased car with the nails.

The man ran outside and in a fit of rage, the furious Man took his child’s hand & hit it many times, not realizing he was using the hammer, which was in his hand. With blood all over her hands, the girl was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The girl underwent an emergency operation. After a while, When the child saw her father in the hospital, with painful eyes she said : “Dad, I am so sorry, that I damaged your car “. With tears in her eyes, She continued looking at her hand and asked~ ‘Dad – When will I get back my fingers? I promise that I will never ever damage your car again’.

At the hospital the child had lost all her fingers due to multiple fractures.

The man was so hurt and speechless, that he couldn’t stop sobbing and crying for hours. The girl had lost her fingers forever, because of his uncontrolled anger and stupid action.

He went back to the car and kicked it many times. Devastated by his own actions, sitting in front of the car he looked at the scratches, His daughter had written ‘LOVE YOU DAD’.

Moral:

Don’t do something permanently stupid just because you are temporarily upset.

If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow…

Remember, Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.

Anger and Love have no limit.

Always remember that “Things are to be used and people are to be loved”. But the problem in today’s world is that “People are being used & Things are being loved”.

Don't worried of problems
